WILLA HARRIS With her family by her side, Willa Harris passed away peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, February 28, 2016, at the Riverview Health Centre personal care home in Winnipeg at the age of 82. Willa was predeceased by her parents Edgar (Ted) and Evelyn Donaghy, loving husband Durward Harris, brother David (Bea) Donaghy and son Brian. She leaves to mourn children Gordon (Darlene) Harris of St. Andrews, MB, Joan (Glen) Dawkins of Winnipeg and Murray (Diana) Harris of Calgary; grandchildren Jennifer (Michael) Harris of Selkirk, Michelle (Jason) Harris of Ile des Chenes, Mitchell (Laura) Harris of Calgary and Jonathan Harris of North Vancouver, BC, her brother Jim (Jill) Donaghy of Etobicoke, ON; special friends Kevin, Sharon, Kendra and Shane Seddon of Winnipeg; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She also leaves behind many friends and relatives who will miss her dearly. Willa was born on December 4, 1933, in Winnipeg, and grew up in Ninga, MB, on the family farm. After attending St. Michael's Academy in Brandon, she went on to attend Normal School where she earned her teaching certification. While teaching in Kenville, MB, she met and married Durward in 1956 and they raised their children on the family farm near Kenville, before retiring to Swan River in 1980. Cremation has already taken place with a private family funeral to be held later. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of Victoria General Hospital, Deer Lodge Centre and Riverview Health Centre who cared for Willa during the final year of her life.
