JUNE KELLINGTON (nee HOBSON) On Friday, February 19, 2016, June died peacefully at the Grace Hospital at the age of 86 with family members by her side. Left to lovingly remember June is her good friend Bill Thompson; brothers Elton, (Grace) George, (Marlene); twin brother Gerald, (Anne); sister in law Margaret Kellington; brother in law Tom Brisson (Mavis) and many special nieces and nephews. June's large circle of friends will also miss her vivacious and vibrant personality. She was predeceased by her husband Morris, (Moe); parents William and Ethel Hobson and siblings Gary, Gladys, William and Elsie. June enjoyed many blessings in her life. She was an avid reader, loved to travel and could dance all night. As a keen sports enthusiast, she enjoyed swimming, curling and golf. She had a passion for the game of Bridge and held the title of International Master Player. June displayed confidence, determination and skill in every thing she endeavoured. We will forever remember and cherish the memory of June's optimistic nature and positive spirit. In keeping with June's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in May. Special thanks to June's niece Leslie Spiers, (John) who has been her caregiver, soul-mate and mentor since June's cancer diagnosis two years ago. Our gratitude to the staff of the Grace Hospital for their care and compassion and to all family members and friends who visited and stayed in touch. God bless you. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I met June and Morris many years ago as I am a friend of Margaret Kellington, June's sister-in-law and devoted friend. June's positive outlook on life I truly admired. Her zest for life was truly infectious and she will truly be missed by all her friends and relatives. Those we hold most dear never truly leave us. They live on in the kindnesses they showed, the comfort they shared, and the love they brought into our lives. My sincere sympathy to you all. • I will always remember and cherish the moments we shared when I was a little girl. The trips to the lake with Val and June, and the nights I got to spend at your place with you and uncle Moe. You always let me stay up late as a treat. May you be surrounded by love and light and warmth in the next life just as you were in this one. Love you Auntie June. - Posted by: Lynn McLeod (Neice) on: Mar 05, 2016

  • Sincere sympathy to June's Family & Friends. I met June while celebrating her Brother Gerald's & my Sister, Anne's 10th. Wedding Anniversary in Winnipeg. She was a beautiful lady with a spirited personality & a contagious smile. If we all lived as your dear June lived, perhaps the world would be a brighter place. So sorry for your loss.
