DOROTHY LOCH March 11, 1924 - January 19, 2016 Dorothy Loch (Waldman) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the Victoria General Hospital with her loving family at her side. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Dorothy's loving nature, combined with her youthful, charismatic personality, ensured that she made friends wherever she went. This was especially true as Dorothy built and contributed to her tight-knit and supportive group of friends at the Shaftesbury Park Retirement Residence and Gwen Secter Creative Living Centre. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 61 years Max and son-in-law Gary Kravetsky. Left to cherish her memory are her children Norma (Larry) Herstein, Rhoda Kravetsky, and Larry Loch. She is also survived by her grandchildren Adam and Lesley Herstein, Alix Kravetsky (Michael Kowalson), Lauren, and Jay Kravetsky, as well as her great-grandchildren Leo and Caylie Herstein, Paige Poetker-Herstein, and Garrey Kowalson. Funeral services were held on Friday, January 22nd at Congregation Etz Chaim with interment at Shaarey Zedek Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Adam Herstein, Larry Herstein, Michael Kowalson, Daniel Kowalson, Jeremy Feuer, and Jerry Maslowsky. The family would like to acknowledge the extraordinary compassion and care extended to Dorothy by the staff of both The Shaftesbury Park Retirement Residence and the doctors and nursing staff of the Victoria General Hospital 4 South.
