Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID ZILINSKY It is with great sadness that the family of David Zilinsky announce his sudden and unexpected passing at his home on Wednesday, March 9th, 2016 at the age of 70. Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen of 49 years, their children, Tim (Deanne), Jamie, Jason, Tami Buus (Craig) and their grandchildren, Brianna, Cheyenne, Kaitlyn and Brooklyn. Dave is also survived by his brothers, Ed (Wanda), Larry (Sharon), his sister, Sharon and sister-in-law, Nancy along with many nieces and nephews. Dave will greet his parents, Olga and Metro along with his brother, Alvin. Dave was born on September 29, 1945 where he spent his life in the RM of Springfield. After school, Dave worked in a local gravel pit hauling gravel. Dave started his life long career in the elevator industry in 1964 with Otis Elevator. He worked his way up to being on maintenance where he earned gold seals of recognition on several jobs. Dave's dream of owning his own business became a reality in 1988, along with his brother Ed. Dave met the love of his life, Maureen in 1961 and they married in 1966 on a hot July summer day. Dave spent his life being dedicated to his family. Family meant everything to Dave and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye. Dave always loved family gatherings whether it was a bbq or a get together for a birthday or holiday. Dave loved his 5 pin bowling where he and Maureen bowled in the Rossmere Challengers for almost 20 years. Dave also loved his day trips to the casino where he enjoyed his gambling. In earlier years, when the kids were young, dad and mom would pack everyone up and would travel to California, Disneyland, take several trips to the black hills in South Dakota and also took trips to BC to visit relatives and friends. Dave and Maureen used to rent a cabin every year at Camp Morton in Gimli where they would spend relaxing time with family. Dave was an animal lover and over the years any strays became part of the family. The family would like to thank the EMS responders and the RCMP for their care and compassion. A big thank you to Holly and her staff at Seasons Funeral Chapel for all of their help and kindness. A celebration of Dave's life will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Seasons Funeral Chapel, 576 Balsam Crescent in Oakbank. There will be no formal service, but the family invites you to come to the chapel to pay your respects and visit with the family anytime between 1:00 and 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dave's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Winnipeg Humane Society. www.seasonsfunerals.ca

I will miss Dave very dearly. He provided good service to our elevators when ever I requested. When Dave answered his phone, I used to say, "this is your favourate cousin Reuben"....and Dave used to burst with laughter. May soul RIP. I met Dave over 10 years ago when I joined his team at Rossmere. I was made to feel welcome and he treated me as though I'd always been there. I am going to miss all the words of encouragement and his positive attitude, in particularly when we weren't doing well. I don't know who is going to update us and say "if we can do well and get __ amount of points and do well we can win this quarter." My heart goes out to Maureen who he gladly took such good care of with never a complaint along with his children and grandchildren who he was so proud of. I truly will miss you Dave. - Posted by: Donna Scull (Team mate at Rossmere.) on: Mar 12, 2016
