MARTHA PAUL It is with profound sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Martha Paul, at home on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at the age of 93 years. She was born in Moosehorn, Manitoba but lived most of her life in St. Vital. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald in 2006, her brother William McKenzie and her twin sister Jessie Atchison. Cherishing her memory are her children: Janice, Terry, Gail (Tim) and Shelley (Don); her grandchildren: Kristen and Jennifer (Andrew); her great-granddaughter Ashlynn; and her sister Edna Parenteau, of Victoria, BC. Mom began working for the T. Eaton Co. in 1939 and retired from Eaton's in the mid 1980s. She enjoyed playing cards with her girlfriends, curling, golfing with the ladies at Harbour View (where she joined the exclusive hole-in-one club), playing bingo at Glenwood Community Club and visiting the casino. After they retired, Mom and Dad spent many winters in Texas. Possibly her greatest joys were her granddaughters and new, great-granddaughter. She was a compassionate, generous soul and a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. The family extends a special thanks to all the staff at River Ridge Retirement Residence. Cremation has taken place and a private, family ceremony will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
