IRENA ANNA JOZWIAK (nee HULEWICZ) After a brief illness, Irena Jozwiak passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 66 years. Remaining to mourn Irena are her long-time partner John; sons, Robert and Jack (Stacey); sister Jadwiga; her four-legged companion Casey; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Marcel and her younger sister, Danka. Irena will be remembered by her infectious smile, sense of humour and big heart. She loved spending time with her family where many laughs and stories were shared. When you came to Irena's home, you were always greeted with a smile and found her busy at work in the kitchen. No one left her house with an empty stomach or a care package in hand. She was passionate about nature, mushroom picking and fishing. When Irena wasn't at home, she loved to go out and socialize with her friends or go dancing. One of her favourite times of year was when she could start preparing to plant her garden. Irena's hardships from her life in Poland enabled her to value the smallest things in her life and to never take anything for granted. Irena's deep faith in God and family, sustained her through life's difficult moments. For those who wish to join in praying the Rosary, it will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue followed by Mass of Christian Burial which will be Celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with an Oblate Father presiding. We would like to thank the family and friends who shared compassion and supported us during this time. We extend our greatest appreciation to the nurses and doctors in the Intensive Care Unit at the Health Sciences Centre for their care and efforts.
