EDWARD ALFRED REMILLARD Edward Alfred Remillard received his angel wings on March 4, 2016 at 3:50 a.m. after a hard fought, albeit short, battle with cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by family, friends and love. Edward leaves to grieve his partner Ruth Chartrand, his daughter Chasity (Shawn), his son Tyler (Sheila), and his daughter Pamela, and dear friend Ben Cockrell. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Joshua (Bobbie-Jean), Jeffrey, Alena, Jeremy, Jared, and Logan; great-grandson Mason; brother Don Remillard (Kathe); sister Carol Barron (Wayne); nephews Clayton (Mel), Chris (Christina), Steven (Tara); niece Tracy (Aaron), and Aunt Lorraine McKane. He was predeceased by his parents Alfred George Remillard and Elsie Dorothy Remillard (nee McKane), and his Aunt Pearl McKane. Ed was born in Winnipeg, MB on April 9, 1956. Ed attended Cecil Rhodes School and Gordon Bell High School. Ed was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend. Ed was a self-employed drywall taper for 35 years subcontracting for various construction companies in Winnipeg. He took great pride in his trade and passed on that artistry and tradesmanship to his son Tyler who became his partner in work for the past 16 years. This was a fitting partnership because Ed and his son were the best of friends and were always together. Ed worked for Coca-Cola for many years as a driver and at Simpson Sears as a driver prior to becoming a tradesman. Ed also worked as a Pest Control Technician while living in Calgary, AB. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Health Sciences Centre, GD4 Ward for their care and compassion in taking care of Ed in his final days. Cremation has already taken place as per Ed's wishes. The family would like to extend an invitation for everyone to join them in a celebration of Ed's life on Thursday, March 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the ANAF John Osborne #1 at 360-1395 Ellice Ave. Pastor Gary Martens of North Kildonan Mennonite Church will be presiding. Luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba in Ed's memory. "Go rest high on that mountain, son your work on earth is done, go to heaven a shoutin' love for the Father and the Son"...we will be missing you and loving you always. xoxoxoxox
