RONALD DENIS MCRAE Peacefully, on the morning of March 12, 2016, Ronald Denis (Denny) McRae passed away in his 82nd year. Denny will be remembered by his children, Audra (Joby), Tracy (Barry), Donna (Jim) and Debra; grandchildren, Jessica, Carter and David; his sisters Betty and Heather (Phil) as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Joyce; his parents William and Rachel; siblings Garry and Connie; his brother-in-law Allan, parents-in-law David and Alma; sister-in-law Katie as well as his niece Ashley. Denny was born in Winnipeg, MB on March 24, 1933 and raised in the Meadowdale District. He met and married his sweetheart Joyce on November 14, 1964, whom he affectionately called "Mommy". They continued to live in Meadowdale where they farmed and raised their family. He enjoyed curling, hunting, snowmobiling, taking his girls for airplane rides around the neighbourhood, winter roads, and traveling to Florida Keys, Alaska and Palm Springs. Most satisfying to him was taking the grandchildren to town for ice cream. We would like to thank the many friends, neighbours and family that so generously gave of their time to visit and keep Dad up to date with what was going on in the neighbourhood, the caregivers at Tudor House personal care home for taking such great care of Dad during the seven years he resided there, and the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church congregation for their spiritual support and care packages. We would also like to thank the emergency doctors and nurses at Selkirk General Hospital in times of need, and most recently, Gilbart Funeral Home for their gentle guidance and support. A Celebration of Denny's life will take place on Saturday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk Manitoba, with Rev. Erik Parker officiating. Cremation has taken place and interment will follow at a later date.
