Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJADWIGA JASTRZEBSKI June 22, 1929 - March 13, 2016 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt on Sunday, March 13, 2016. Jadwiga was born in Poland on June 22, 1929, the third of seven children, to Piotr and Anna Lonska. She came to Canada in 1947, was married in 1949 and started her family. Mom was a loving and caring person and a very proud gramma and great-gramma. Her family meant everything to her. She was a very hardworking woman who offered herself to anyone who needed a hand. We will all miss our family celebrations, it won't be the same without her. We will all have a heart load of wonderful memories. Jadwiga was predeceased by her husband Izydor; her parents, Anna and Piotr Lonski; sisters, Mary Nowicki and Elzibieta Juncewicz. She leaves to mourn her passing her four children, Joseph (Joelle) Jastrzebski, Marian (George) Kontusic, Richard (Paula) Jastrzebski and Robert (Monique) Jastrzebski; her eight grandchildren, Teresa (Steven), Andre (Jenna), Kristopher, Therese, Jory, Adam, Sophia and Sasha; and her great-granddaughter Khloe. She is also survived by her sister Regina in Poland, Janka (Jurek) in Winnipeg, Josef of Winnipeg, Jan of Connecticut, USA; along with many nieces and nephews in Winnipeg, Connecticut and Poland, as well as many friends and their families in Winnipeg. Summers were spent camping at Nutimik Lake and Lee River, blueberry picking in Kenora, and for the past 40 years at her cottage in St. Laurent. We spent many vacations together travelling to Connecticut, Poland and Montreal to visit family. Mom enjoyed cooking and entertaining. It didn't matter when you went to visit - there was always a meal waiting for you. Mom's eyes lit up each time any of her children were about to become parents. She cherished and loved everyone of her grandchildren and this past year, even though her health was declining, she couldn't have been happier when she became a great-grandmother to her newest (Kotek) Khloe Eva Mae. We would like to thank the caring staff on the 5th floor of the Victoria Hospital, Oncology staff of the Victoria Hospital, Doctors R. Singer, Skrabek and Penner. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in mom's honour to the Canadian Cancer Society. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. "Wieczny Odpoczynek Racz Jej Dac, Panie" Cropo Funeral Chapel, 204-586-8044
