BERNICE MARY GREENE (CLOSE) With great sadness, the family announces the death of Bernice Mary Greene on March 1, 2016, in Burnaby, BC, at the age of 100. Born November 25, 1915, raised and educated in Winnipeg, MB, Bernice was predeceased by parents, Norman John and Mary Veronica Close; brothers, Emil, Theodore, Gerald, Rene; and sisters, Evelyn Shad and Irene Line; sister-in-law Phyllis Close. She is survived by daughter Susan Sinclair; grandchildren, Keith (Kathy) Bonin, David Bonin and Denise (Phil) Bonin-Mount; and great-granddaughters, Meghen and Chantelle Bonin, and many nieces and nephews. Bernie was happy, sensitive, compassionate and a great listener. She passed to her family an inner strength, along with a loving nature given to all she met. She kept up on world news, hockey; loved Jeopardy, Y&R, movies, playing solitaire, concerts and her patio garden. She moved to British Columbia with Susan in 1968, helping raise her three grandchildren. She retired to Chelsea Terrace for 25 years and in 2013, moved to St. Michael's Care.
