PATRICIA ADELINE CARRIERE
Date of Passing: Mar 15, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA ADELINE CARRIERE It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Patricia Adeline Carriere (nee Marton). Pat passed away on March 15, 2016, at the age of 70, with her daughters by her side. Pat was born and raised in Winnipeg, she loved to get dressed up and go dancing. Pat remained there until she was married in 1975 to Denis Carriere. She was fortunate while married, to have traveled extensively in Canada and overseas. They lived in many provinces and countries including: the United Arab Emirates, Norway, Nigeria, Singapore and Indonesia and had two daughters along the way. Pat and her husband parted ways in 1992, but she remained in Fort Frances, Ontario, raising her girls. Pat made many friends there and was even active in the Fort Frances Little Theater for a number of years. She eventually chose to move back home to Winnipeg in 2004. Pat loved her family fiercely and believed in hard work. She was a very loving mother and would sacrifice anything for her girls. Pat enjoyed a good glass of white wine and "retail therapy". She was known for always being well put together and was young at heart, steadfastly refusing to embrace the benefits of being a senior. In her later years, Pat developed a boldness, choosing to express herself in ways those even 40 years younger would never consider. Pat had a passion for cooking with both traditional and new flavours and she delighted in watching birds and squirrels. Left to cherish Pat's memory are her daughters, Elaine and Denise; son-in-law Ryan; her niece Calla; nephew-in-law Bohdan; sister Debbie, Charlie, Murphy and many friends. Respecting Pat's wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to D'Arcy's A.R.C. in Winnipeg, or Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital. Pat truly was a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed. I admired and respected her worldly views and tell it like it is personality. I have shared some of the greatest laughs of life (and a few tears) with Pat during our friendship. Pat always marched to her own beat making her a truly one of a kind individual. She was always there as a friend through good times and bad to show me encouragement. Because of her encouragement and support I truly felt as if I could do whatever it is that I set my mind and heart to. Thank you Pat for being my biggest cheerleader. Gone but never forgotten my friend. - Posted by: Jennifer Michaelis (Friend) on: Mar 19, 2016
