Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN NIELSEN (nee MOFFAT) It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Helen Nielsen on Monday, March 14, 2016 at the age of 87 years. Left to lovingly remember Helen are her devoted husband of 58 years, Harry; sons, Harry (Donna) and Al; daughter, Cindy Shack (Bryan Doell); grandchildren, Carla, Kimberly, Mallory, Jamie, Matt, David and Alex; and great-granddaughter, Avery. She is also survived by her brother, Andrew Moffat, and sister, Dorothy Muncer. She was predeceased by her son, Ken and sister, Margaret Haresign. Helen was born February 19, 1929 where she resided in Winnipeg until her passing. Helen and Harry loved to spend their summers at Lester Beach with family and friends at the family cottage. She will always be remembered for her willingness to help others by volunteering at the schools, Boy Scouts and Sea Cadets. Her greatest passion was to provide childcare for several children. A Celebration of Helen's Life will be held at Canad Inn Fort Garry, 1824 Pembina Highway on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
