Dear Nancy and David, I was so sorry to read about your mum. I chanced upon it when I was doing some research on my grandmother, also born Blanche Mainman. I think my grandmother was your grandfather's (Percy) sister. Your mum and my mum (Kathleen) used to correspond occasionally before she died in 2005, and then I exchanged a couple of letters with her myself. Your mum looks so much like my grandma did, I guess Blanche was a family name. Your mum sounds like she was a remarkable lady. David and Nancy, we are so sorry to read about your Mom's passing. We were talking about her the other day while on vacation in Palm Springs. Please know that you will be in our prayers as we are flying home Saturday afternoon. I will miss your Mom a lot as we go way back to when your Dad took weddings pictures when I married Jim Tibbs. She was a wonderful lady and always had a special place in my heart. Our deepest sympathies and prayers. Marilyn and Gord - Posted by: Marilyn and Gordon lund (Church friends) on: Mar 20, 2016

Blanche has been a dear friend for many, many years. She was in particular a friend of my mother's: Chris Stewart, who pre-deceased her by 8 months. They both lived at Sturgeon Creek into their 90's, across the street from one another, as they were in different buildings. I cannot count the times that I was so appreciative of Blanche's many kindnesses to my mother: visits when they lived down the street from each other, cards sent at Christmas and Easter, and many supportive phonecalls. After they talked on the phone they would wave to one another through their windows, and across the street. We sat beside one another at St. Bede's for decades. She made beautiful things with her hands, she helped at the church in a thousand ways since it was opened. She was a kind, wonderful human being, and she loved all her family dearly. My condolences to David and Nancy and your extended family. - Posted by: Catherine Lee (friend) on: Mar 20, 2016

To David and Nancy Very sorry to hear about your Mom. She was a lovely lady and your Dad, Jack, worshipped her. As I worked with your Dad, he took the place of my own Father who died at a very young age. My Brother, Marvyn, was very fond of both your parents. We are in Portugal, returning next month, and wish you our sincerest sympathy. Lorraine and Gerry - Posted by: Gerry and Lorraine Cairns (Friends) on: Mar 19, 2016
