SHONA RENE EISBRENNER (nee GUENTHER) August 20, 1972 March 20, 2016 Peacefully, comfortably, and with family and friends by her side, Shona passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at her home. Shona is survived by her husband Dale and her two daughters Mackenzie and Sidney; parents Ron and Laureen Guenther; brothers Myron (Rachel, Kayla, Noah), Curt (Josie, Jadon, Mathias, Ethan, Selah); grandmother Jesse Reddekopp; mother and father-in-law Al and Elaine Eisbrenner; sisters-in-law Julie (Jason, Colby, Brady, Dylan) Lana (John, Madeline, Sadie, Easton); along with numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Shona was born and raised in Saskatoon. In her childhood, Shona cherished her time with her family and would never miss a family gathering. In 1995, she met Dale and they married August 31, 1996. In 1999, Dale and Shona moved to Winnipeg from Saskatoon. Shona started her career with Hy-line Credit Union in 2001, which eventually became Assiniboine Credit Union. She worked there for 15 years in various roles until her illness no longer allowed her to continue. In 2003, Shona and Dale moved to Oak Bluff and this is where they really developed roots. Shona loved being part of the community and had a knack for having fun. You could always count on Shona to be entertaining someone at the house. She loved having company and would never say no to a get together. You would always see Shona at a community event making sure everyone was having a good time; she was the life of the party and the glue that held everyone together. Shona would always put the needs of others first, before her own, and this was one of the many traits that made her so special. Shona loved to travel; her travels took her all over North America, Europe, Hawaii and the Caribbean. The summer time made her happiest, spending time at the lake with family and friends. She would always be the first to load the boat for a day on the water. During the winter, there was nothing that made her more proud than to watch her 2 girls play ringette. The only thing that would keep her away from the rink was her illness. She was so proud of her 2 girls, and you can see Shona's special influence in both of them today. The family would like to thank the staff at CancerCare Manitoba with special recognition to the palliative care team (Brigitte and Ruby) that helped Shona in the end. Last but certainly not least; we would like to thank our family and friends that helped us through this difficult time. Your love and support during the hard times made it tolerable. We will be forever grateful. A funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Soul Sanctuary Church, 2050 Chevrier Blvd. Anyone wishing to show his or her respects can make a donation to CancerCare Manitoba or World Vision Canada.
