Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER (JAKE) JOHN JAKUBIC Surrounded by the love of his family, Walter passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 82 years on March 29, 2016. Left to cherish and mourn Walter is his spouse Marie, of 61 years, his eldest sister Julie, Walter's children Donna (Greg), Ken, Nancy and Joey; grandchildren Michelle (Joey), Brenda (Nick) and Jake; great-grandchildren Brantley and Jaxon; as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. There will be a gathering next weekend to celebrate Walter's life. Place and time to be determined. Please contact the family for details. Donations in Walter's name may be made to a charity of one's choice - keeping in mind Walter's love for all animals. Jake will always be remembered as my hockey coach when I was young. As I have grown I realize the time, effort, and commitment involved to volunteer your time to teach, coach and mentor the youth. This is almost always at the expense of one's own family and I hope he knew/knows how much we appreciated the many years he invested in us! I worked with Jake at CN and VIA for a number of years back in the day. I remember him as a quiet, soft spoken man... LOL. Especially memorable were our annual playoff hockey drafts where Jake certainly livened them up. He was well respected and liked by his co-workers. Sincerest condolences to Marie and family.
