ISABELLA SHARP CAMPBELL BRYDEN (nee MCVEY) Isabella Bryden passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the age of 84 years. Remaining to lovingly remember Isabel are her children, Peter (Helen), Margaret (Dean), and James (Stacey); grandchildren, William, Patricia, Jamie, Sarah, Christie, and Erin; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Ashley, Alexander, Dylan and Kyle; as well as her sisters-in-law, Mary and Jean; brother-in-law Bert and son-in-law, Frank. She is also remembered by Kaleigh and Audrey, whom she loved like her own grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband James; her parents, Peter and Anne McVey (nee Murphy); brother Peter and his wife May; sister Jeannie and her husband Jimmy; brothers, James and Danny; daughter Jean and her grandson Martin. On March 17, 1932 Isabel was born in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Canada on December 25, 1973 with her husband and two younger children, and made her home in the St. James area of Winnipeg. She worked at the Grain Exchange, General Stationers, and eventually, for many years, at the Birchwood Inn. Isabel made many wonderful friends over the years at her job and always enjoyed the time she spent with them. She loved to play bingo and had a lot of luck, she was a regular winner and she always appreciated her bingo buddies' checking in on her and felt lucky to call them friends. She also had many neighbours in her building she considered friends and she will be missed by them as well. Isabel loved her children dearly, but even more-so, her grandchildren. She was immensely proud of all of them and loved to hear their stories, visit and have a cup of tea with them, and spoil them as much as she could. She was a wonderful granny and she will be missed more than words can describe. When the world is all at odds, And the mind a stormy sea, Take some quiet time alone And have a cuppa tea. It soon will be a lovely place, I'm there with you, you see I will be every single time You pour a cuppa tea. On Saturday, April 9, 2016, Isabel's Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bartholomew Anglican Church, 881 Autumnwood Drive, Winnipeg, with Rev. Dr. Lee Titterington, presider. Isabel's family would like to thank the WRHA Home Care and Palliative Care programs for the amazing support they gave during the last weeks and days of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7. Isabel was our neighbour across the hall. When we moved in my son was only 8 and now he is a young adult. In the last few years, he would help her when he could carrying her groceries. She always asked for him every time we met in the hallway and had a kind comment of the man he is becoming. She always had a kind word no matter what her own circumstances, and we considered her our friend. We are sad to hear of her passing but happy that she was able to be with her loved ones in her final days. Rest in peace Isabel... - Posted by: Evelyn and Connor (Next door neighbours) on: Apr 03, 2016
