HENRY JOSEPH LEDET December 30, 1942 - April 2, 2016 On Saturday, April 2, 2016, after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer, the family of Henry Ledet, sadly announces his peaceful passing at St. Boniface Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Rosalie (Dornez) Ledet. Henry was the beloved husband of Marie (Bourgouin), for over 50 years. Henry was a loving and caring father to Mitch (Michelle), Therese (Marc) and Andre (Tiffany). Proud grandfather to Jordan, Samantha, Julien, Stephan and Taylor. He was the first-born son and is survived by his sisters, Yvonne (George), Denise (Campbell) and brother Roger (Bernice) and many nieces and nephews. Henry was born in Ste. Geneviève and raised on the farm. Henry was a hard-working man and great provider for his family, having worked as a heavy-duty mechanic for many years, most of which were spent with Tasker Enterprises. He leaves us with incredible memories as a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who took pleasure and enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved old cars, a good polka band, hunting, fishing and sharing Mom's home cooked meals with family. Henry will be sadly missed by everyone. The family would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers during this difficult time. A special thanks to the staff on 5E at St. Boniface Hospital for their gracious and compassionate care during Henry's final days. Respecting Henry's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Henry's life for friends and family will be held on Friday, April 8 at Holy Family Parish, 778 Archibald Street at 11:00 a.m. A lunch will follow at Saints-Martyrs Parish reception hall, 289 Dussault. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation https://www.saintboniface.ca/foundation/ en/donate/
