Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM FORD William Ford, 64, of Carberry, Manitoba, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. He is survived by his son Corey Pfeiffer (Kim) and his beloved granddaughter Courtney Mitchler. His loyal friend Shirley Pommer provided much support during his long battle with cancer. He also leaves to mourn his stepmother Lucie Gilchuk, sisters Linda Penner, Yvonne Liwyj, Diana Rehaluk, Lynda Broderick, Penny Hunter, Janet Gilchuk; and brothers Gerald Penner, Paul Penner, Raymond Ford, and Larry Gilchuk. He was predeceased by his father Harry Gilchuk, and his mother Lena Bilisky. He described himself as "intent by nature". Born in a shack with a mud roof and mud floor in Hanover, Manitoba on May 23, 1951, William courageously survived his childhood. He attended university and functioned as a child care worker. For several years William held a Horse Racing Alberta thoroughbred licence as a owner, trainer and breeder of the finest bloodlines. He independently took on the notorious Bennett Jones law firm in a two year lawsuit. He was a legal beagle enjoying litigation. William ran a successful flooring business for 35 years, and leaves this world as a landlord with six tenants and the owner of six properties. He also leaves behind a successful online business in Canada and a restaurant in Cuba. Join us at the Carberry Evangelical Church, 409 Toronto St. in Carberry, Manitoba on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. to celebrate his life. We thank the staff on the Grace Hospital fifth floor for their care and support.
