HENRY ANDREW DEDENUS 1924 - 2016 On April 3, 2016 Henry passed away unexpectedly at the age of 91, with family by his side. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Carol (Wayne) Kauk and their children Brian (Brenda), Disa and Stephen (Stacy), and his daughter Mary (Neville) Skanderbeg and their children Angela, Ken (Jamie), Lori (Darwin), Larry (Darilyn) and Brian (Sarah), 14 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren with one more expected shortly. Also extended family and numerous friends many of whom lovingly referred to him as Grampa "D" or Uncle Henry. Henry's distinctive "joie de vivre" was enjoyed by all who knew him. Henry was a proud Second World War Navy veteran. He married Margaret Innes, the love of his life, in 1944 and missed her terribly after her death in 2011. Henry worked at several jobs until joining Thomas Rathwell Ltd. and continued there until his retirement. Henry and Margaret moved to Arnes in 1986 and he lived in the area until his passing. He loved to travel. His last trip was to visit family in Denver early this year. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, on Friday, April 8 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in his memory can be made to either Evergreen Basics Needs, Box 89, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0, or the Betel Home Foundation, Box 10, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0, both of which were very dear to his heart. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • We would see Henry every day in Gimli and he would always put a smile on your face! This man was so sweet and kind to everyone he met. When Henry lost his wonderful wife, he spent many times talking to us about her and how much he loved her. He also loved to tell us about his travels recently and brought us pictures to see. He was so proud of all the family he visited. To his family, I share my condolences with you at this difficult time. Henry proved that there are still people out there that are genuine and kind and we will truly miss seeing him. I do know that he is probably smiling down on us now that he has reunited with his loving Margaret. - Posted by: Nicole Skorupski (Friend) on: Apr 07, 2016
