WILBROD STANLEY DESJARDINS April 29, 1921 - April 1, 2016 On Friday April 1, 2016, Wilbrod (Wilf) Desjardins passed away peacefully at the age of 94 surrounded by his loved ones. Wilf was predeceased by his beloved wife Alena in 2013. He will be lovingly remembered by sister Edie; brother-in-law Joe; his sons, Don (Marie), Duncan (Darby) and grandchildren, Darren (Janie), Scott, Sheena (Bryan), Adrian, Blaine, Cole and great-grandchild Luke. Wilf worked for most of his career at Bristol Aerospace and he was instrumental in Bristol changing to a Canadian union and being their first president. For the first 25 years of his retirement he spent long hours doing the thing he loved most that was tending to his garden. When he wasn't gardening he could be found out cheering on the grandkids in their different sporting activities. Wilf was very active most of his life including bowling, belonging to a bike club and Bristol breakfast club. Wilf will be lovingly remembered for his delicious vegetable garden and pumpkins big enough for his grand kids to sit in. Special thanks to the staff at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg for all their care. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Wilf's life will be held Friday April 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Henderson Legion #215 located at 3600 De Vries Avenue. Donations in Wilf's memory may be made to the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg Foundation.
