RHONDA EINARSSON April 17, 1957 - February 1, 2016 Celebrating the life of Rhonda Einarsson Rhonda was diagnosed with lung cancer in September of 2015. Despite the best efforts of her doctors and nurses and the unwavering support of her family and friends, the disease spread quickly. She passed away after a short stay in hospital, with her husband Claude at her side. Never asking for sympathy, Rhonda faced difficult radiation treatments with courage, even referring to the treatments as "cool". No doubt trying to protect the ones she loved, husband Claude, sister Diana Simpson, brother-in-law Trent Simpson and their sons Connor and Macleod, who were the apples of Rhonda's eyes. We think of her every day and in doing so we learn to accept our loss. But each time we remember her we also recognize the indelible impact she had on our lives. Even her ornery cat Honey seems to miss her. Rhonda had many jobs from Kamps after school to Unysis to John Blumberg Golf Course, where she loved maintaining the course, except when it rained. Rhonda made an impression. She had a big personality and a great laugh that she shared without reserve whether with friends on her back deck or with friends at her favourite restaurants, Hooters. In keeping with how she lived, a celebration of her life will be held on her birthday, April 16 at Hooters on St. James St. and St. Matthews Ave. from 1:00 p.m. until . . . ? Come and join us for a drink in her honour. Cremation has taken place and Rhonda's ashes will be spread privately by her family. In lieu of flowers or birthday presents, we're certain Rhonda would rather you make a donation to the Cancer Society in her name, both to show appreciation for her care and to support the ongoing care of others.
