DAVID JOSEPH PAUL MENARD June 29, 1940 - March 30, 2016 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of a wonderful, kind and gentle husband, dad and grandpa. David passed away Wednesday March 30, 2016 at the Chandler Hospital in Arizona. David was predeceased by sisters, Jeanette, Annette, Irene, Lillian, and Estelle; as well as brothers, Lou, Arthur, and Edmond; parents, Ernest and Dorothy; and numerous in-laws. He most recently mourned the loss of his niece Rhonda Lepage-Bracken. He is survived by his siblings Juliette (Gerry), Mona (Ed), Elena; and sister-in-law Shirley Menard. David made many great memories with, and will be sadly missed by, his wife Lea (Dandeneau); daughters, Connie (Chris), Adele (Rick), Shelly (Trevor), son Keith; and grandchildren, Danny, Elissa, Rhea and Lucas. David was born in Fisher Branch, MB to Ernest and Dorothy Menard. He was the second youngest of twelve children. David worked at the Misericordia hospital for 30 years as a urology technician to support his family. A devoted family man, he loved his wife, children and grandchildren unconditionally. David and Lea attended many dances, Goldeyes games, grandkids' activities and they loved playing cards. He enjoyed curling, watching sports and TV game shows. Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 16 at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Rd., with reception to follow at Winakwa Community Centre, 980 Winakwa Rd. A special thanks to cousin Rolly Dandeneau and friends Lyle and Adeline Robertson who were there in Arizona, and their heartfelt support, at the time of David's passing. The family would also like to thank everyone for their kind words and support in this time of grief. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's memory to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Muscular Dystrophy Foundation. A private family interment will be planned at a later date.
