Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLYALL ROBERT MEYERS Peacefully, Lyall Robert Meyers passed away on March 27, 2016 from Cancer. He was 70 years old. Lyall will be lovingly remembered by his two adoring children, Michael and Laura (Simon Teskey) and his two brothers, Neil and Marc (Deborah Slutchuk). Lyall was predeceased by his wife Barbara (Gorsky), father George (Barbara Sinder) and his mother Rita (Mickey Hoch). Lyall was a gentle, caring, thoughtful, knowledgeable and patient man who was loved and respected by so many. He was a true model of generosity and compassion. This was especially evident in his relationships with lifelong friends and in his passionate support of the organizations he was so proud to champion. All those who were fortunate enough to work with him in both his chosen profession as trusted pharmacist, or in various volunteer capacities benefited immensely. Lyall was particularly proud of his work with the Manitoba Celiac Association, Main Street Project and various bodybuilding associations, women's shelters and First Nation Bands throughout Manitoba. Lyall's love for golf, fishing, the arts and a great meal (especially on Wednesday nights) were always accompanied by wonderful, loving friends who filled his life with so much joy. When diagnosed, Lyall was preparing for the special role of Zaida' to his first grandchild. Lyall's enormous heart, sensitivity and silly wit will be cherished and shared in bedtime stories about Zaida for years to come. Pallbearers were Wally Kane, Morley Jacobs, Simon Teskey, Dr. Michael Sheps, Marc Meyers, Joel Dudeck and Neil Baker. We also wish to express our wholehearted gratitude to Neil and Analyn Baker, Joel and Sharron Dudeck, Beverly and Morley Jacobs and Marsha Udow for their tireless efforts and true friendship. To everyone at Meyers' Drugstore and all the countless other dear friends and family who supported our father over the years and over these final difficult months, thank you' could never fully describe our deep appreciation. I knew Lyall for forty years. He was a client when I worked at European Health Spa on Main. He helped us out with supplements and was a fixture in the bodybuilding community forever. His loss to that community was profound. He was the guy that shook everyone's hand at the shows because everyone knew who he was. My condolences to his family. - Posted by: Scott Miner (Friend) on: Aug 29, 2016

I served with Lyall on the boards for these organizations. He was one of the original members of the DSRC. He was so busy but he attended as many meetings as possible. He was committed to serving the community. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor will be sincerely missed at our board meetings. I feel so privileged to have served on the boards with as Lyall. I shall always remember him with fondness and respect. - Posted by: Valerie Stanowski (co board member Downtown Seniors Resource Council & Point Douglas Seniors Coalition ) on: May 04, 2016

I met Lyall over 20 years ago when I first began working for Novartis Nutrition and began calling on his store. We developed a working friendship that continued throughout my career in this industry. Lyall always had time for me when I came to town for a meeting or just a quick visit. I was very saddened to hear of his passing. Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. - Posted by: Mitchell Sinclair (Friend ) on: Apr 13, 2016

I am so very saddened to hear of Lyall's passing. I knew Lyall and his "Meyers Family" when I worked at Primary Medical Clinic with Dr. Ron and Kim Padua. Lyall was never too busy to smile and say hello, and was very kind to me later at a difficult time in my life. He was a genuinely kind gentleman, and I will always remember him this way. - Posted by: Janis Richards (Friend) on: Apr 13, 2016
