Our hearts were saddened to hear of Dwight's passing, our minds flooded with so many memories of good old ringette days....Dwight's smile and laughter as he greeted Jon as "Garth Brooks" and myself "Trish Yearwood" at the rink; Gisele's caring and kindness to every player, family member, coach and manager; Sam taking Jaime and Brooke under her wing during their first year playing ( MacDonald Novice) as they learned to skate and play the game; Team spaghetti dinners at their warm and welcoming Oak Bluff home; Dwight, Larry, George and Jon having their special "meetings" on road trips; Dwight volunteering to spend the day roasting the hog for the girl's wind up. The list goes on. We cherish the time we spent with Dwight, Gisele and Sam. As life goes on we are reminded of how lucky we are to have spent those years together sharing our lives and friendship with our ringette families. We will always remember Dwight's kind heart, generosity, loyalty, smile and laugh. He was authentic. His love for Gisele, Sam, Paul and Cyndi and the rest of his family was always evident. Our heartfelt condolences to all of you. With fondness, Jody, Jon, Jaime, Brooke and Codi Semchuk - Posted by: Jody, Jon, Jaime, Brooke and Codi Semchuk (Old ringette friends, ) on: Apr 17, 2016

I met Dwight when I first started with MITT, I had sent my previous career in a very negative setting, Dwight was one of the first persons I met, his smile, positive approach to life was a wonderful change from what I was use to. During my 15 years at MITT Dwight always would brighten any room situation he entered. A great man!!!! - Posted by: Ernie Markus (Friend) on: Apr 15, 2016

My condelences to the Solon family. We worked in the same division and for a number of years, my cubicle was only 20 feet from his office. I had the pleasure of working on several projects with Dwight and liked his professionalism and postive outlook for life. In the Highways golf league, one afternoon at Kildonan, I suggested that Dwight use my new Taylor Made 360 driver on the first hole. As this hole was very wide, he gave it a try. I saw the next morning and he told me that he was annoyed with me for throwing off his game the other day. He chuckled and informed me that he almost put his golf ball on the green, well over 300 yards with my club. He didn't have this club for the rest holes and this put off his game. He later bought one and believe Bruce bought it from him some while later. I remember each spring Dwight would have a closer connection with Brandon and his Wheat Kings would be making one of their yearly runs for the Memorial Cup and we would have many talks on this. Dwight, it was a pleasure working with you and I will miss you. - Posted by: Colin Dederick (co-worker) on: Apr 15, 2016

Dwight was truly, one of the GOOD GUYS you meet in life. After talking to him you came away feeling better about life's little curves that get thrown at everyone! Dwight had the rare ability to be able to walk in other people's shoes, and always responded with generousity, caring, and friendship. We will all cherish our individual memories of those moments. Friendship ,like this ,is a blessing, and leaves a void that can never be filled. He always thought with his heart. - Posted by: Tom, Joanne & Hayley Kolba (friend & co-worker) on: Apr 15, 2016

Dwight was an amazing very positive man with a great sense of humour. Met him as a trades person doing renovations on his house. As things happen we became friends and Dwight and Gisele made us feel like part of the family. Your company stories and laughs will be missed.
