KATHRYN (KAY) MCGEE (nee STEFANIUK) Peacefully passed away April 20, 2016 at Red River Place Personal Care Home, Selkirk, MB at the age of 96. Kathryn was born in 1919 in East Selkirk where she grew up. In 1945, married Frank McGee and moved to Selkirk and raised their family. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Anastasia, her husband Frank in 1972, and brother, John and wife Betty; sister, Anne Rokosh and husband John and niece Betty Sarchuk. Left to cherish Kathryn's memory, daughter Dawn (Bill) Henderson; son Bill (Donna); son Dale (Diane); grandchildren Erin (Kevin) Voodre, Darcy (Deanna) Henderson; Amanda (Mario) Dubois; Barret (Marla) McGee; Jessie (Herbie) Maendel; Desirae (John), Duncan, Dustin McGee; great-grandchildren Shae-Lynn and Kaleb Voodre; Aidan and Grace Henderson, Avery McGee and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Kathryn was a member of the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church and a very active member of the Catholic Women's League since 1966 and was honoured with a Maple Leaf Service Pin for her dedication and hard work. She enjoyed singing and was a devoted choir member for many years. Travelling was another love of hers. She visited many countries including the Holy Land in 1979. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 26th, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Notre Dame Church, 269 Jemima St., Selkirk, MB (Viewing one half hour prior to service). Interment will follow the Mass in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Notre Dame Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund. Our condolences to the family. Although I didn't have much interaction with Aunt Kathryn only when visiting East Selkirk, living in the states made that difficult, my Mom (Irene Kordalchuk Muryn) always spoke very highly of her and how wonderful she was.
