Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryB.A. (GUSTI) JACOBSON May 24, 1922 - April 14, 2016 Peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2016, Gusti passed away at the Betel Home in Gimli at the age of 93. Predeceased by his wife Rose, parents Thorunn and Jacob, brother Leonard, sisters Margaret and Dora. Gusti is survived by his children; Gord (Gail), Margaret and Patty (Tim) along with grandchildren Cory (Kaela and great-grandchild Hayden), Chad, Dylan and Garrett and Nick. Also survived by his sister Eveline (Jack), brother Jackie and sister-in-law Kristjana Magnusson. Dad was born in Selkirk on May 24, 1922 and moved to Gimli at age seven. He was proud of being a flying officer in the Second World War being the first local to graduate from Gimli Flight School. Dad was also a charter member of the Gimli Legion Branch 182 being a member for 70 years. The rest of his life he was a commercial fisherman on Lake Winnipeg. He was a proud Afi to his five grandsons and Long Afi to Hayden. In his later years, if he wasn't reading a book, he was doing his crossword or Sudoku puzzles, coffee in hand. Vocally an avid Blue Jays fan and secretly a Maple Leaf fan. The family would like to thank Dr. R.C. Patel and the staff at Gimli Betel Home for their wonderful care and compassion for Dad. At Dad's request, no formal service will take place. A private family gathering will be held a later date. Any donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. Rest in peace, Dad...you will be missed. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

Uncle Gusti will indeed be missed by myself & my children (& their children). So many great memories to hold on to that go back back as far as my memory does. Auntie Rose & Uncle Gusti stood as God Parents to Julie, Gerry & myself when we were baptized at the Lutheran Church in Gimli & will always be remembered as such. Julie (my sister -Ominski) & I had a lovely visit with our cousin, (his youngest daughter)yesterday. Amid the memories, laughs & some tears we thought of all our parents together again at the table drinking coffee, enjoying each other's company again - & yes - in our thoughts they were laughing! They were a great bunch & will be remembered as that always! Much love & prayers to Gordie, Margaret, Patty, spouses & Uncle Gusti's much loved Grandsons. ❤️ - Posted by: Cheryl Foss (Niece) on: Apr 25, 2016
