JOYCE LIMERICK (nee SCOTT) December 7, 1930 - February 21, 2016 It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Joyce Caroline Limerick on Sunday, February 21, 2016. She is survived by daughters Carol Limerick and Lynn Wilson of Victoria, BC, Gail Trepanier of Winnipeg, MB, and Gail's children Maxine of Winnipeg, and Jaymie of Vancouver, BC. She is also survived by her sisters Verdeen Neufeld (Harry), Peggy Kulchycki, and Pat Shalley, all of Winnipeg, and her one brother Bob Scott of Lantzville, BC. Despite having had numerous chronic conditions, our mom still held hope for a better quality of life when she moved to Victoria in April 2014. She enjoyed almost two years before her heart attack in December 2015, days before her 85th birthday. She absolutely loved her bright and sunny apartment with large windows and balcony looking out to her favourite tree and glimpses of ocean, as well as the hustle and bustle on the street below. We wish to thank all staff at Victoria's Copper Mountain Centre (where Mom was treated with acupuncture from Bryan Hardy, and massage treatments from Dona Kolabinski) for making Mom's day-to-day easier. We are forever indebted to Dr. Ted Rosenberg and his in-home medical team, as well as the Community Care nurses team here in Victoria, all of whom made it possible for Mom's wishes to pass away at home, with her daughters at her side. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Victoria Hospice which is run largely by volunteers. Cremation has taken place and a small family interment will be planned for a later date. "We are missing you Mom and our crib games, classic movie nights, your willingness to act silly, humouring us with your antics, your awe of the ocean, flowers, monkey trees and all else that put a smile on your face."

  • I knew Joyce from brief encounters but got to know her better after her move to Victoria where I have visited her and her daughters, several times in the last 2 years. I couldn't describe her better than the obituary does but we had a close bond and were very fond of each other. I will miss seeing her there but she will be in my heart, forever! We had a lovely Christmas all together in 2014, and We will all remember the fun we had! - Posted by: Gary Card (Family Friend) on: Apr 23, 2016
