SYLVIA CRAMER It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our loving mother, baba and great-baba Sylvia. Mom passed away peacefully Sunday morning, April 24, 2016 at the Simkin Centre, at the age of 92. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband Jack 32 years ago. Mom grew up in Winnipeg and worked most of her life in women's retail. Mom loved and valued her family most of all and always beamed with love and kindness when family was around. She loved cooking for the holidays and particularly enjoyed the family gatherings at Rosh Hashanah, Hannukah and Passover. She is survived by her three sons Randy (Joanne), Ian (Nancy) and Hersh (Claudia); grandchildren Kim (Marvin), Taryn (Ken) and Jacob; great-grandchildren Shayla, Isaac and Jorja; brother Shom, and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral services were officiated by Rabbi Lander and were held at the Chesed Shel Emes Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 27. Interment followed at the Hebrew Sick Cemetery. Pallbearers were: grandson Jacob; nephews Evan, Elliott and Sheldon; and family friends Howard and Sholly. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of the second floor Simkin Centre for their care and compassion during the last year of Mom's life. If friends and family desire they may make a donation in Sylvia's name to the charity of their choice. Mom, you will be missed and loved forever.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I only knew Sylvia a short time, as my mother is also on Simkin 2 at the Sharon Home. Sylvia was always friendly and eager to engage in conversation, smiling and waving her hello as we went by, or happy to have my mother sit with her at her table. Sylvia always impressed me with her strength of character. I found out after her death that we share the same birthday, and maybe that's why we felt some affinity for each other. My condolences to the family. Rest in peace, Sylvia. - Posted by: Susan Israel (Acquaintance at Sharon Home) on: May 02, 2016

  • Sylvia captivated us with the great pride in, and love for, her family which she expressed unreservedly. Her strength of character was evident from the very first time we met her, and our admiration for this very great lady, who revealed a keen understanding of people and their potential, grew with each successive encounter. One has only to look at the indomitable sense of family she inspired to appreciate her legacy. - Posted by: Lynn Maskiw / Shaun Connelly (family friends) on: Apr 26, 2016
