GILBERT (GIL) VERRAN It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dad on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Grace Hospital, with his family by his side. Dad was predeceased by our mom Sharon. Remaining to forever cherish Dad's memory are his daughters Rhonda (Len), Tara (George) and Lana (Kelly). Dad was most proud of his grandchildren Jessica (Matthew) and Ryan, and great-grandchildren Madelyn and Emily. Also left to mourn are his brother Allan (Lois), brother-in-law Murray, sister-in-law Sheena, sister-in-law Louise (Lyle), and many nieces and nephews. In recent years Dad enjoyed his time at Birchwood Auto Park as a shuttle driver and being part of the A-team'. A longtime member of the Charleswood Legion, Dad enjoyed snooker and curling and the occasional success at the meat draws. Never one to turn down an invitation, Dad always found pleasure in the company of family and many longtime friends. Whether it be a Saturday morning breakfast, time out at the cottage or wing night, these were just a few of his favourite pastimes. The family would like to thank Dr. Pat Harris and the 3 North doctors and staff of the Grace Hospital for their dedication and compassion. We love you Mom and Dad and take comfort in knowing you are together again, watching over us. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the charity of your choice. Dad's life will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
