He was sadly predeceased by his wife Hildegard in 2005. He is survived by several nephews in Germany, and by a close group of friends from his neighbourhood and church who became his support and family. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association, 1456 St. Paul St., Kelowna, BC V1Y 2E6, where Rudy received such excellent care in his final days.
