WILLIAM (BILL) JOHNSON On Tuesday, April 26, 2016, Bill passed away peacefully, at the age of 88, with family by his side. He was predeceased by his sister Milly and is survived by Joan, his wife of 64 years, his brother Al (Gail), his brother-in-law Gordie, and by his children Charlie (Edith), Peter (Samantha), Leslie (John) and Pauline. He also leaves to mourn his passing his grandchildren Kostan (Florbela), Caitlin (Jarett), Bill (Tessa) and Montana, his great-grandchildren Fleur and Reis, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Much gratitude to Joseph for his support and friendship in recent years. Born and raised in Winnipeg, athletics was his life, especially hockey. He played for the Winnipeg Maroons in the 1960s, winning the Allan Cup in 1964 and playing in international tournaments against the Soviet Union and European teams. He also coached the University of Winnipeg team as well as supporting the Windsor Community Club coaching kids. He kept his connection to sports through his store Baldy Northcott's Sporting Goods, which he ran for several decades. Many thanks to the caring staff at Parkview Place, 10th floor, for their wonderful care of Bill. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
