KAROLINE (KAROL) AGNES NAULT (LEN) June 24, 1942 - April 25, 2016 It is with deep sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of Karoline Nault on Monday April 25, 2016 at the age of 73. Karol is survived by her loving and ever supportive husband Norm Nault; children Sharlene (Steve) Szego of Calgary, AB and Norm Jr. (Jennifer) Nault; grandchildren, Aeryk (Carly) Weiser of Grand Forks, ND, Vanessa and Lena Szego, Kennedy and Ryann Nault; great-granddaughter Brooklyn Weiser; brother Stan (Joanna) Len of Saskatoon, SK; sisters-in-law Agnes Len of Regina, SK, Inge Len of Ladysmith, BC, Gladys Andrews, Eveline Peloquin of St-Pierre, MB, and brother-in-law Jim Lang of Saskatoon, SK, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Karol was predeceased by her parents Stanley and Louise Len; siblings Walter Len, Eddie Len, Anne McMillan, John Len, Eileen Maccan, Stena Jaworski and Jennie Lang; brothers-in-law Hugh McMillan parents-in-law Eugene and Leontine Nault, sisters-in-law Lorraine Levaque, Claudette Banville, and brothers-in-law, Marc Banville and Denis Peloquin. Karol was born June 24, 1942 and raised on the family farm in Fone Hill, SK, and although she moved away from the family homestead to follow her dream of becoming a nurse, she always remained a farm girl at heart. She moved to Winnipeg in 1959 and attended nursing school where she excelled and eventually obtained her nursing degree. She helped and touched the lives of many patients over her career. She taught and worked at the St. Boniface Hospital for 35 years. She made many lifelong friends during that time and enjoyed spending time with them inside and outside of work. She met Norm on a blind date in 1959 and Karol and Norm were married a few years later on June 5, 1965 and they enjoyed almost 51 years of marriage. They settled in St. Vital where they raised their children and made many lifelong friends of neighbours on Imperial Avenue. After retirement, winters were spent in Mesa, AZ and summers out at the lake. Mom loved spending time with her family and friends and would keep in touch over the phone and Facebook. She also enjoyed playing cards, completing crossword puzzles and watching most every sport on TV and could talk to you about the latest sports news or player. She was an avid Winnipeg Jets, Blue Bomber and Blue Jays fan and never missed either watching a game on TV or making sure she found out the outcome on the evening sports update The family would like to thank all the nurses, doctors and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital that looked after Mom and the family in her last hours. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family interment and celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers we would request that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • Uncle Norm, Shar and Normie... I don't even know where to begin... My heart goes out to all of you... I am still in shock, as I am sure you all are. Aunty Karol knew me before I was even born. Growing up 1 house apart, camping every weekend together as a kid, then spending 30 plus years at RAM camps with my mom and dad kind of made all of you.... Family. There is so much I will miss about her, but amazing memories that I will hold onto forever. The crystal chandelier and you are my sunshine are songs that will always make me think of her. Her laugh, smile and snorts will be missed. I will miss her hugs as we arrive and depart from the lake, and spending time over a good drink, with good friends. I send you all love and know that we are all thinking of you. Xoxo The Lyle's - Posted by: Lisa Lyle (Friend, but more like family ) on: May 09, 2016
