JAMES (JIMBO) A. W. FRASER It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Jimbo. He died knowing he was loved on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 59 years, with his wife holding his hand. Jimbo will be remembered with love by his wife Shannon; his daughters, Jerra, Cassidy (Stephan) and Carita (Thomas); twin grandsons, Ryder and Jayden whom he adored; his dad Ron; sisters, Teri (Norm), Gail (Chris), Cherie (Kent) and Cathy (Gary); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Jim loved sports, especially football and hockey. He was known as the "hotdog guy" for the St. James Rods Football for 13 years where he made many friends. Jim was a master fabricator and there wasn't anything he could not build or fix and welcomed each challenge. He did everything old school and will be remembered for his cardboard patterns and his skill with a jigsaw. Jim loved cars and built many over the years receiving numerous awards. His most recent accomplishment was being inducted into the Manitoba Motorsport Hall of Fame which he was very proud of. He loved his family and friends with all his heart and told them daily. He was so proud of his daughters and his grandsons. They were perfect in his eyes. Jimbo was the most selfless, brave, positive and generous man you ever met. He made an impact on everyone who met him. He suffered with illness for many years but always had a smile on his face and a friendly word. Jim faced every day with courage and grace. He had a great sense of humour and loved to make others laugh. He was a wonderful story teller, artist, neighbour and friend. A celebration of Jimbo's life will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. in The Church of St. Stephen and St. Bede, 99 Turner Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. A special thank you to his Dr.'s and nurses and to all the angels at 8A Palliative Care as well as the furry volunteers. You are our family and forever friends. Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • It breaks my heart to know that Jimbo has passed! He fought the fight of his life and never gave up! In typical Jimbo fashion he was always more concerned about everyone else then himself! He was a pleasure to know and speak with, we shared many deep conversations that I hold close to my heart! I miss the Monday morning phone calls asking how my son's hockey went. Jimbo taught me one thing in life and that was to love unconditionally! A true master at his craft but yet an even better friend to all that he was close to! My sincere condolences, may he now rest in peace and fabricate a stairway to heaven so we can all visit those we lost! Love you Jimbo - Posted by: Mike Rodrigues (Friend) on: May 13, 2016

  • Our family has many fond memories of Jimbo from when he built our cobra years ago. He was always positive, very knowledgable & helpful. We would look forward to a visit to see what he had accomplished & now we think of him when we go for cobra rides. Our thoughts are with Shannon & his family. • My Dear Brother JImbo! I am so very sad that your long journey has ended, but am relieved that you are no longer struggling to hang on to your life. You fought a very long battle with such strength and stubbornness, even making all of the doctors and nurses shake their heads in disbelief! You did it your way, when you were good and ready. I am so very proud to be your sister! I will miss you forever, but know you will wait at the gates for me when it is my turn to go! I LOVE YOU! - Posted by: Teri Janitz (Sister) on: Apr 30, 2016
