HENRY LOEWEN It is with much sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry Loewen on April 30, 2016. He was born on May 18, 1929. Henry will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Maria; his children: Anne, Herb (Jacquie), Albert (Terry), Donnie (Tracey), Linda (Paul); seven beautiful grandchildren; sister-in-law Annie Bergen; brother-in-law Henry (Rita) Guenther and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Germany. He was predeceased by his father Jacob, mother Maria and numerous brothers and sisters. Henry was born in Nikolaifeld, Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1950. Dad's strong work ethic focused his time and efforts with many jobs. He worked for Christie Biscuits for 26 years, then CP Rail until his retirement. He held numerous part-time jobs to provide for his family best he could. In his spare time, Dad enjoyed walks, camping and travelling, immensely. Special thanks to the CCU, geriatric and surgical team at the St. Boniface Hospital. Dad fought the fight as long as he could, but died peacefully with the family at his side. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). It is May 18, 2021, five years plus from when the Lord took Dad to his Heavenly homestead. Dad would have turned 92 today. God, however, had a unique plan for Dad, a plan specific to his heavenly purpose and destiny. May Dad's Heavenly purpose watch over his family and Mom; to protect, tap us on the shoulder to remind us of special magical moments and memories. Guide us on the path of righteousness, encourage to be kind and caring, treat people with respect and common courtesy, and enjoy joy each day with family and friends with love and kindness. Dad was a facilitator of all the ingredients of the family recipe to give to others that will leave a positive legacy in others, to last a lifetime; and carve these milestones in the oak tree on the top of the hill, for all to enjoy, forever! Happy Birthday Dad! - Posted by: albert Loewen (Son) on: May 18, 2021
