HELEN ILEKYS (nee SMITH) It is with great sadness that Lloyd and Linda announce the peaceful passing of their mother Helen, on Sunday April 24, 2016 at the age of 97. Loving daughter to the late Michael and Katherine. Predeceased by her loving husband Stanley, brothers Johnny and Stanley, sisters Violet, Rose and Julia. Dear sister to loving brother Bernie (Nell) of Sturgis. Caring grandmother to Ian (Simone), Cindy, Janis and Roman, and great-grandmother to Sarah, Stuart and Michael. Dearly missed by her nephews Kenny, Joey, Ronnie (Flo) and Conley (Linda). Helen will be lovingly remembered by her many other friends and relatives. Mom's family by love: Aunt Janette and Uncle Dennis who gave strength, love and support. You were there through it all. Margaret, Kimberley, Kathryn, James and Mom's 90 year junior Christopher. Thank you for all the Joy and Love. Elizabeth, right to the end you were her friend. Dora, there was no more happiness in Mom's day than to see your wagging tail and to get your slobbery kisses. Yes....it's the dog! Our Tru Davidson Acres Family: everyone treated Mom like family and with dignity and love. It always gave us great comfort to know that Mom was safe. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Dr. Berlin, all the nurses and staff on 3 West, the volunteers and other residents all of whom brought us joy every single day. Lili, Yasmin, Matthew, Bing and Rosie you touched our hearts. As per Mom's wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date and notices will be sent. Mom, you were a strong and beautiful Lady. You fought a hard battle to stay with us but you were tired, so God gave you rest. We take comfort knowing that you are with your Sweetheart again. We will miss you so much Mom, but we know we'll meet again some sunny day. Forever, your children. XOXO For more information, please visit www.etouch.ca

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Today I turned 65. I have no one to celebrate it with. So I remembered Helen. She would always sing happy birthday to me, at the office and after her retirement, she would call and sing happy birthday to me at home. The calls stopped long ago. I never knew why. And now I do. She brought cheer to those who knew her, worked with her. The world is a sadder place with her passing. Sorry I'm three years too late, but I just found out today. - Posted by: Vicki Oldroyd (co-worker) on: Oct 24, 2019
