Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I am very sad to hear of Bob's passing. Bob was my superior working directly with him for 2 years at Smith Carter Searle (1964-1966). I remember Bob jumping into the water to save a young boy who couldn't swim at Warnock's Lodge near Clearwater Bay in Ontario at our rented cabin. I was young then about 11 or 12 (1955 or so). Bob loved fishing and the "Lake". I am 74 now, and it seems like yesterday. The last time I saw Bob was 1966. I will miss him. • With sadness, I only heard of Bob's passing this Saturday, May 27th. During the 1980's, I had worked for the company Bob was a partner of, on short-term contract assignments, as a temporary office support administrator, for which I have fond memories. My best recollection of him was a man with a great sense morale, humour and patience. I express my condolences to his family, for their loss. God Bless. - Posted by: Rose Held (Past "Employee") on: May 27, 2016

  • Bob and my Dad (Ken Hurst) were friends and part of the group that owned Pisces Island in the Shoal Lake Narrows. Reading the log showed that Bob, Heather and Joyce were often the first to open up the cabin and the last to close it, not to mention the numerous trips for sunning, swimming, saunas and fires on the point during the season. I got to know Bob through my Dad and I shared many fond memories of fun, fishing and balky generators with the two of them. My deepest condolences to Joyce, Heather and Jeff on Bob's passing. - Posted by: Donald Hurst (Friend) on: May 07, 2016
