Violet was always known as Vi. You could call her Violet but she would say just call me Vi. Vi was born in Winnipeg on February 4, 1924 to Nicholas Szadorski and Mary Szadorski (nee Stefanicki). She grew up with her brothers and sisters on Gallagher Avenue and attended Cecil Rhodes School and Daniel McIntyre High School. Vi had a love of life and a passion for reading. She would get a book and read for hours in the nearby park. She applied for and took a job at Eaton's. She worked at Eaton's in Winnipeg in accounting and would later be transferred to the head office in Toronto. She loved her apartment in Toronto and living in Toronto. On her holidays she would take the train to visit her sister Anne Rooney and her family in Ottawa. She would come home to Winnipeg to visit her family as well. She loved to travel and had a great love of horses. Her biggest love was her family. She loved her parents, brothers and sisters and her nephews and nieces. She would transfer from Eaton's Head Office in Toronto back to Winnipeg Eaton's. She received her 40-year award from John Craig Eaton personally. She retired from Eaton's in Winnipeg on November 8, 1986. In her retirement years she and her brother Michael looked after each other, travelling around the City and Province, visiting nieces and nephews in Winnipeg and making a trip to Ottawa and California to see family there. Mike would look after and care for Vi and tend to her needs as she got older. Mike respected and loved his sister Vi very deeply. Vi was a very dear, humble, loving, honest, caring, God loving, wonderful sister, lady and such a special aunt. She was our rock and would pass on such great words of wisdom. She will always be in our hearts.
