Dear Ross, I was sorry to learn of the passing of your father. He was obviously an accomplished man himself and must have been very proud of you, your character and achievements. Best wishes for peace of heart to you, Monica, Alistair, and your whole family. - Posted by: Catherine MacGregor (Friend (of Ross)) on: May 23, 2016

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Uncle Ian ( godfather) this week. Although time and distance had come between us, I have many fond memories of Uncle Ian and Auntie Hilda and of Ross, Morag, Alistair and of course, Elizabeth. The one and only time I caddied for him at a Pro-Am event I didn't realize caddy's shouldn't steal the show. A number of summers in my youth, renting cottages at Victoria Beach with the Laing family and the Connelly family and ours. And of course the familiar site of his approaching car on Harris Blvd. heading home and receiving the wave of his hand on the steering wheel while his other hand cradled his pipe to mouth. To Auntie Hilda, Ross,Morag and Alistair, my sincerest condolences and my deepest sympathies and prayers are with you. - Posted by: Bruce Morrison (Family friend and Godson) on: May 17, 2016

I met Dr. Laing as a patient in the '80's and recall his "gruff exterior" at first but soon came to know his gentler side. He was an excellent surgeon. Many years later, I was a co-worker and truly enjoyed listening to his many stories of his Emerge days and family life. He was a pleasure to work with...he will be missed! - Posted by: Gail Walker (friend) on: May 11, 2016

Very sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Laing. I remember him and the Laing family well, as a kid from Woodhaven. Their house was always open to neighborhood kids, where we played in the basement and made mac & cheese in the kitchen. My condolences to Alastair, Morag, Ross and other members of your family for your loss. - Posted by: John Glass () on: May 06, 2016
