MARIE THERESE FLEURETTE ROY Mrs. Marie Therese Fleurette Roy, 94 years, of the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital, formerly of Red Rock, Ontario passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at her residence. Therese was born in Elie, Manitoba. She married Orval Roy in 1946 and moved to Red Rock in 1947. She resided there until 2008 when she moved to the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital Long Term Care. Therese worked as a seamstress from her home for many years doing alternations for people. She was an active member of St. Hilary's Catholic Women's League which she belonged to for 61 years. She enjoyed knitting, was a big Bingo fan and could play cards for hours, Cassino being one of her favourites. Her family was her main joy, especially her grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Marie and Hector Desilets, her husband Orval Roy (1996), her grandson Neil Roy (2007), and eight siblings; she is survived by her children - Wayne Roy of Fort Frances, ON, Gail (Peter) Schade of Starbuck, MB and Nancy (Ross) Spencer of Red Rock, six grandchildren - Derek Roy of Victoria, BC, Tracy Schade (Ashley) of Winnipeg, MB, Terri (Bart) Schade-Pouteau of Edmonton, AB, Jason (Jennifer) Spencer of Horton Township, ON, Scott (Jolene) Spencer of Calgary, AB and Darren Spencer of Red Rock, six great-grandchildren - Carter Schade, Matthew Pouteau, Braelyn, Brendan, Arlie and Evyn Spencer, and two sisters - Georgette Bradshaw of Winnipeg and Rolande (Glen) Foster of Brandon, MB. According to Therese's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Therese Roy will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Hilary's Church in Red Rock with Father D. Adaza officiating. Friends so wishing may make donations to the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital Long Term Care. Arrangements are in the care of: Elliott Funeral Home Ltd., Nipigon.
