HELENE HEBERT (nee LE GALL) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Hélène, with family by her side, on May 3, 2016, at St. Pierre Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents Auguste and Mathilde LeGall, parents-in-law Joseph and Rose Alma Hébert, son-in-law Jeffrey Bevan, nephew Berne Gosselin, brothers-in-law Roger and Guy Hébert and Gérard Gosselin, and sisters-in-law Lorraine and Jocelyne Hébert. Hélène leaves to mourn Denis Hébert, her loving husband of 57 years, their children Luc Hébert (Doreen), Gisèle Kaczmarek (Dave), Adèle Hébert-Kirouac (Noël), and Rhéau Hébert (Kendra), grandchildren Denise Guertin (Kevin), Jennifer Bevan (Mac Carey), Janelle Vielfaure (Eric), Mark Bevan (Haylee Biden), Alixe Kirouac (Logan Picton), Crysta, Tyler and Lisa Kaczmarek, and her special great-grandson Nathan Guertin, relatives from Saskatchewan and numerous cousins in France. Hélène will also be sadly missed by her twin brothers Robert Le Gall (Lucille), Alain LeGall (Rosita), brothers and sisters-in-law Yolande Gosselin, Therese Hébert, Jeanne Gosselin (Wilfrid), Gilles Hébert, Carmelle Hébert-Lafantaisie (Gerry), Diane Robert (Léo), and numerous nieces and nephews. Our loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Hélène was born December 7, 1934, in Ponteix, SK. At the age of three, her parents bought some land in Ste Rose du Lac, MB where she helped on the farm until her move to St. Charles convent to attend Grade 12. In 1954-1955, she obtained her Teaching Certificate at Tuxedo Normal School and in 1955 she taught in St. Malo, MB until 1957 before returning to her home town of Ste Rose du Lac to teach for one year. She returned to St. Malo to teach in 1958 and married the love of her life, Denis, that same year. With a 10 year "break" to raise her family, she retired from teaching in 1994. Retirement however was not a part of Hélène's vocabulary as she continued to care for her family, children, grandchildren, cooking, baking, gardening, canning and was an active member in the community as a volunteer in various charities such as the Village Connection, Christmas Hampers, fundraising for the Red Cross and the Cancer Society for many years as well as sponsoring children from third world countries. Hélène will be remembered for the unconditional love and devotion she had for her family, community and friends. The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Nasir and the dedicated nursing staff of St. Pierre Hospital as well as Dr. Johnston, Irena, Dr. Dubay and Dr. Reimer from CancerCare whose remarkable personal attention and compassion to Mom's care was truly evident and appreciated during her illness. Special thanks to Father Dominic La Fleur for his numerous visits, warm words of encouragement and special blessings as well as the numerous visits and prayers from family and friends. Funeral Mass with Celebrant Father Patrice Kasonga and Co-Celebrants Father Michel Nault and Father Armand Le Gal will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 9 at the St. Malo Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Health Sciences Centre or St. Pierre Hospital Palliative Care. Desjardins 204-233-4949 1-888-233-4949 www.desjardinsfuneralchapel.ca

Toute ma sympathie à Denis et à la famille. Je garde de bons souvenirs d'elle pour son accueil chez elle et son dévouement envers la communauté losque je vivais à Saint-Malo (2005-2012). - Posted by: Marcel Chaput (Friend) on: May 07, 2016
