JOANNE (JOSIE) LE CLERC August 26, 1922 - May 11, 2016 JoAnne Le Clerc (nee Shewchuk), aged 93, died peacefully on May 11, 2016, to be reunited with her husband Ted; her son Keith; her brothers, Steve, Fred and John; and sisters, Lena and Anne. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Marcia (Pam); her grandchildren, Ian (Tracey) and Michelle (Dale); and great-grandchildren, Dorian, Matthew, Christian and Karli. JoAnne will also be lovingly remembered by countless nieces and nephews ("Aunty Jo"), and extended family members. JoAnne loved being from and living in Winnipeg's north end all her life. She loved to travel, particularly throughout Canada and the US. She was often described as a woman ahead of her time, and excelled in retail sales, most notably at Raber's Department Store as the manager and head salesperson. JoAnne's journey was spent living her life in a genuine way and on her own terms. With a sharp mind and sometimes a sharper tongue, she never failed to tell you like it was. She was inherently stubborn and always wanted to see and hear of her family's successes. JoAnne was very generous to those she loved. She was a strong, intelligent woman; she could calculate many sums in her head and present you with her financial opinions as though they were law. She was authentic; she was real; and she was always there through good times and bad. As JoAnne aged and life slowed down, her huge personality shone through to the end. Life became much simpler and confined, but one important aspect remained: knowledge of her family's activities including information about her nieces and nephews, her daughter, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She truly wanted everyone to be successful in their lives. A very special thank you to her niece, Pat Kublanski, who provided love and care throughout most of JoAnne's life. Also, a special thank you to niece Jonnette Heath (John) and nephew Ken Saunders (Elsie), who were so helpful to her, especially in her later years. Thank you to the incredible medical professionals who provided JoAnne with excellent care over the last few years. A huge gratitude of thanks to all of the staff at Holy Family Personal Care Home: Marty, Kim, Sue, Helen...to name but a few. These people are outstanding and amazing all at once. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice. A celebration of JoAnne's life to be held on Saturday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. A private interment will be held at a later date. 204-586-8044 CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL
