She had many precious visits with her close family in the days before her passing. She loved people and was very charismatic and had many good friends. Janice loved the water and was a talented swimmer and an excellent water skier. Summers were spent canoeing and boating in the Silver Birches family boat on the Red River. Many happy memories of gatherings with Janice, in the back yard, on the riverbank at the house on Henderson Highway and at the Betula Lake cottage, will be always in our hearts. She was a special personality her family and old friends will remember with much love. She moved from Winnipeg to Castlegar, Calgary then to Esquimalt with her husband John and family eventually moving back to Transcona. Janice was a sun lover who loved to garden. She worked at one of the first Pizza Places in Winnipeg. She enjoyed the time she spent working with her friends at Transcona Florists. Janice loved working at the Naval Base in Esquimalt as the head cook. She spent several years working at Transcona's Half Moon Drive-Inn/ Whistle Pig Drive Inn, eventually becoming co-owner of the business for quite a few years. She loved to cook and excelled at it. One of the best times for Janice were her trips to Mexico and Texas with her husband John where they met many friends that they kept in touch with through the years. Janice was blessed with her three wonderful children and leaves a legacy of her eight beautiful grandchildren, she will live on in the hearts of all of us and we will cherish her and all the good memories. Janice was much loved. The family extends a sincere thank you to the doctors and extraordinary staff of Concordia Hospital for the excellent care.
