GISELE YOLANDE MAITRE (née HUBERDEAU) After a lengthy illness that robbed her of all her capacities and abilities, Gisèle passed away at Health Sciences Centre on May 11, 2016, at the age of 67. Gisèle will be missed by her very caring and faithful husband, Ron; her three children: Mélanie (Eric) Bisson, Justin (Nicole Baril) and Roland (Jennifer West); seven grandchildren: Elise and Danika Bisson; Sophie, Gabriel, Samuel, Valérie Maître; and Max Maître. Gisèle was predeceased by her parents Louis Huberdeau and Jeanne Fenez of St-Lazare MB; by her husband's parents Léon Maître and Adéline Fradette; her brother Claude (Shannon Tataryn); and a nephew Donald Chateau. She leaves to mourn her passing: her sister-in-law, Jeannine (Gérald) Chateau and her children Paul and Gisèle Oleksiuk; her siblings: Lorraine (Ivan) Tremblay, Jacinthe (Gérard Balcaen), Denis (Zoé Guay), Ronald (Joanne Norrie), Adrien (Marcie Fouillard), and Léonne (Ken Henderson). Gisèle and Ron were married May 16, 1970. After her kids (her pride and joy) were in school, Gisèle taught piano at her home to many French-speaking children. Later she formed a partnership with Michèle Chenier called Piano Ensemble. Next to Ron and the kids (whom she always tried to please), Gisèle enjoyed her garden and flowers. She was a great cook and her door was always open. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, May 17 at St-Eugène Church. Merci to Health Sciences Centre staff who looked after her with much compassion during her last 12 days; the ladies from Comforts of Home Care; family and friends who came from far and wide; and her husband and sister Jacinthe who kept her life as normal as possible. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Gisele and I went to primary school together in St.Lazare. - Posted by: Marie Roy (school friend) on: May 23, 2016

  • My deepest sympathies to Ron, Mélanie, Justin and Roland. I knew Gisele in St. Lazare and was always impressed with her. I was younger and she was lovely but she was always very nice with me. We played a Grade Ten duet together - The Nutcracker - and it was one of the thrills of my high school period. I am sure "flights of angels will sing her to her rest". - Posted by: Wayne Selby (Friend) on: May 22, 2016

  • It seems so strange to see your name Mom, in this lineup of people who have passed. I miss you so much already, but must believe that you are in a better place and will continue to take care of us. There are memories of you all over; especially now, in the spring, with all the perennials in full bloom. Repose en paix chère Maman, et on pense à toi à tous les jours. Je t'aime trop, Mel, xox - Posted by: Melanie Bisson (daughter) on: May 21, 2016
