CLAIRE ELAYNE HAY With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Claire Elayne Hay (nee McComb) on May 8,2016 at her families beloved Falcon Lake cottage. Elayne is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Don; their sons, Tyler and Stephen; his wife Jennifer and their children, Nolan and Meghan; her sister Diana and brothers Charles and David. Born February 15, 1949 to Norman and Claire McComb, she met the love of her life Don, were soon married and later blessed with the birth of their two sons. She spent her early career with General Electric and over 23 years with Boeing Canada, retiring in 2013. In her retirement, Elayne delighted in the time spent with her grandchildren and family and was passionate in reading by the waters edge at the family cottage. Her heartfelt generosity touched many, including her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. We are profoundly thankful to the Falcon Lake paramedic team and the volunteer fire fighters for their efforts. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Southeast Whiteshell Fire Department. A small private memorial was held last weekend.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • My dear departed friend, I am so glad you had a few years to spend with your grandkids. I am so sorry we will not get to share a laugh again- about stupidities and bed making routine :). I could never measure up to your standards in that department. If there was a good place to leave this world from, your "Loon Shit Heaven" was it. I will think of you every time I change the feed for the hummingbirds, and drive through Whiteshell. Rest in peace, dear Elayne. - Posted by: Tatjana Draskovic (Friend and co-worker) on: May 30, 2016

  • I had the pleasure of working with Elayne in the Engineering department . She decisively helped the Engineering department achieve greatness. I will always be moved by the tears that came to her eyes during the company's convulsive reorganization. - Posted by: Rudy Braun (Friend and co-worker) on: May 22, 2016

  • I'm so very sorry to hear about Elayne, she was so full of life and great stories about the lake. She was a dear person to me and I will cherish the times we spent at work together. Rest in Peace my friend. - Posted by: Tracey (co worker) on: May 22, 2016
