Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLINDA LUTHIA GRANSDEN (nee PATTERSON) April 18, 1948 - May 18, 2016 The family of Linda Gransden are saddened to announce her passing at the St. Boniface Hospital on May 18, 2016. Linda, 68 years old, died peacefully in her sleep. In addition to her many friends Linda leaves to grieve her daughters Michelle (Dave) and Tracey, her sons Trevor (Carol) and Ryan (Andrea), grandchildren Renée, Austin, Cole, AJ, Jake, Ryder, Lexi, Jaxson and Alysha, and great-grandchild Jace. Linda also leaves to mourn her brothers Wayne (Randy) of Port Dover and Dale (Bara) of Lac du Bonnet, nephew Scott from Hamilton ON, and niece Stefanie (John) of Oakbank. Also left to mourn Linda's loss is a very special and kind friend who was always there when needed, her sister Pat (Don), and her little companion, her dog Coco. Linda was predeceased by her husband and soul mate Jim Gransden, and her parents Bruce and Luthia Patterson. For many years, Linda and Jim owned and operated Keystrokes Desktop Publishing on Academy Road. After Jim's passing Linda was the executive assistant at the Mechanical Contractors Association of Manitoba. Then Linda headed west to Vernon, BC to look after her mom. Linda, with her outgoing personality, enjoyed the company of friends she made while living in Vernon, BC. Linda and her mother both played "Grannie Darts" each week. This was a pastime both enjoyed and were exceptionally good at. Linda's place of peace, her comfort zone and retreat of many decades was her cottage at Spruce Sands on Lake Winnipeg. Summers at the lake are cherished memories for Linda's family and her many special lake friends. A celebration of Linda's life will be held on a date to be announced later. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do something nice for someone in need. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff and volunteers at the St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness and caring.

Dear Michelle and Ryan - Anna Kristancic here from Perth Western Australia. I met your gorgeous, wonderful Mother Linda on a flight from Toronto to Winnipeg many, many years ago. I stayed in your home and met you both, Trevor was away I think. Linda and I stayed in touch and corresponded and shared many phone calls over the years, so I also stayed in touch with your lives too. She was so kind and generous, a truly wonderful lady. We both thought the other had the 'accent'. I am so saddened by her passing. Fond memories are with me forever. Sincere condolences to you all. I fondly remember some of the good times we spent together, especially the ones that included you, me, Bara & your Mom........in Vernon, around the kitchen table or on the deck. We laughed, ate good food, good wine & shared stories & headed for bed late....with good memories inside. I will also never forget the day we decided to go golfing & not one of us, at that stage, knew how to execute a good shot, but that was hardly important. Weather was beautiful & so was the company. Sharing many more of those special times with you is what I, fortunately, have as a remembrance of you! - Posted by: Frances Solmundson (Family) on: May 30, 2016

Linda I am very sorry to hear about the passing of your Mum. I think we only met in person three times but after your Dad died we kept in touch by phone a lot and she became friends with my wife Kathy. I have a picture of your Mum and Dad and me at their wedding and I have placed it in a little frame on the dining room table in memory of them at this sad time. Reading the obituary you wrote reminds us of all the good she did in the world and should be a comfort to us at this sad time. So sorry to hear this news. Trevor, Ryan and Michelle---each of you went to school with our kids, Daniel, Corey and Andrea. We remember your parents well. We spent a lovely day with all of you at the lake. After Jim passed, David recalls doing some legal work for your Mom. Trevor, do you remember how you and Daniel planned to bike ride to Winnipeg Beach? We are thinking of you at this time.
