PHILIP CECIL TURNER 1942 - 2016 It is with deep sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Philip C. Turner, age 74, at his home in Toronto on Wednesday, May 17, 2016. Devoted father of Glenn (Marinel) and grandfather of Gritine. Cherished brother of Christine (Jeff). He will be lovingly remembered by Lynne, brother-in-law Paul and sister-in-law Judi (Les). He will be sadly missed by nephews Chris, Paul and Scott, nieces Leslie (Gary), Lee-Anne (Alan), Erin, Jennifer, and many great-nieces and nephews. Phil was predeceased by his parents Charles and Georgette Turner and his sister Lorraine Carey. Phil was born in Victoria, BC and grew up in St. Boniface, MB. He moved to Toronto in the early 1960s. He worked in the apparel industry and was President of Cluett, Peabody Canada Inc. (Arrow Shirts) in the 1990s. Phil will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his marvelous sense of humour and his pride in his Metis heritage. A memorial service will be held at the Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, 905-257-8822, on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. A reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Metis Federation Bereavement Fund, 150 Henry Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 0J7. Online condolences may be made at www.glenoaks.ca
