John and I shared our first years in teaching together at Principal Sparling and Cecil Rhodes Schools. We played basketball, cycled and coached together. I remember John as a robust, intense and true friend. My heart goes out to Valerie, John Jr. and Edith. Peace and love in your time of remembrance and grief. - Posted by: jack king (friend) on: Jun 06, 2016

Like Jim, I also played hockey with John on the Crescentwood team. It was an old timers team in the 1980's but it never seemed that long ago. John was a good guy who cared about his team mates and the game. John Barr (friend). - Posted by: John Barr (friend) on: Jun 03, 2016

Sorry to hear of John's passing. He was a great guy and a good friend. We played many hockey games together with the Crescentwood old timers team. He was fiery on the ice. - Posted by: Jim Bowler (friend) on: May 28, 2016
