MARCELLINE BASARAB It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marcelline Basarab (nee Budyk) who passed away May 31 2015 peacefully with her children by her side. Marcie was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1991. Loving mother of Ron, Susan (Ken) and Karen; grandchildren, Sloane (TJ), Ben, Adam (Erin), Colin (Sara), Marci and Thomas; great- grandchildren, Tommy and Keeley. Marcie leaves behind sisters, Mary, Sylvia and Florence. Predeceased by brothers, Walter, Ben and sisters Anne and Betty. Marcie was born January 26th 1919 in Rama, Sask. The Family later settled in South Transcona in 1931. Marcie and Bill lived in Toronto but later returned to Transcona. They spent their retirement years at Winnipeg Beach. Marcie lived at St. Josaphat where she volunteered making perogies at the church before spending her final years in Kelowna, BC near her daughters. Marcie was of tender heart and generous spirit. She loved to play cards, dance and sing. She enjoyed many family functions and special occasions. Those who entered her home were warmly embraced. She was loving and loved and is deeply missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 30 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Church in Transcona. A brief gathering will be held following the Service.
