JACOB (JACK) DAUDRICH Born on September 29, 1918 and passed away on May 29, 2016 at the age of 97 years. Jack was predeceased by his loving wife Ruth in 2012. Despite the loss of their father and grandfather, the family takes comfort knowing that he is reunited with Ruth in the arms of the Lord. Jack leaves his sister Bertha, his four children Edith (Ron) Yaremkewich, Vera (John) Wiebe, Bruno Daudrich, Dave (Judi) Daudrich, his eight grandchildren Dennis (Michelle), Sherri, Melanie (Kris), Shauna (Todd), Kyle (Valerie), Michael (Bellem), Derek (Kerstin), and Breanne (Keith), his 13 great-grandchildren Jackson, Lucas, Rylan, Caelin, Cole, Brielle, Alec, Noah, Evan, Ruby, Dillon, Alektra, Ashton, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was born in Daudrichsfeld, Russia to German parents. At the age of 10, Jack and his family arrived in Canada after fleeing Russia because of the political turbulence and fear for their lives. The family settled in Overstone, Manitoba later moving to Minitonas, Manitoba. Jack and Ruth lived in Morris, Manitoba after marrying in 1932 and then later moved to Winnipeg after the 1950 flood. Jack had many and varied careers and businesses throughout his life and continued working into his early 80s. Jack was always eager and willing to help his children and grandchildren and loved them all very much. Jack was from an era where fathers never told their children that they loved them, but Jack did, and for that we as family will always cherish his memory, our lives with him and will miss him dearly. The family would like to thank the staff at River Park Gardens for their loving care and attention, home for both Jack and Ruth since 2007. Funeral services will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home at 4000 Portage Avenue on Saturday, June 4 at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. John Hisel officiating.
