WILLIAM DUVAL GUY Bill Guy passed away at the age of 87 years, after a five month stay at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, on Saturday, May 28, 2016. A kind and caring man with a twist of humour admired by all, Bill will be missed and cherished by his daughter Cathie (Dennis) Pickerl; twin sons Rob (Leslie) Guy and David (Nellie) Guy; grandsons Andrew (Lori) Pickerl, Riley Pickerl, Travis Guy, and Eric Guy; granddaughter Madeline Pickerl, and great-grandson Carter Pickerl. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 45 years, Beryl, in 2001; his parents Robert and Anna-Corinne Guy, and his siblings R. D. (Doc) Guy, Virginia Guy-Stikeman and Constance (Tonsy) Hunter. Bill was born in Winnipeg on October 15, 1928, youngest of four children. He spent many summers as a child and adult at Farlane, Ontario. It was through his passion for canoeing that he met the love of his life Beryl Titheridge, and they married in 1956. Bill engaged in numerous lake and travel adventures. He worked at National Trust for most of his career. He was an active member of Oxford United Church for 45 years. Bill was a Mason and we will all remember fondly, including his last days, his recitals of poetry and school chants. Bill resided in St. Vital for the latter 25 years of his life. Family gatherings with food were one of his favourite events. Many thanks to Chantal and staff at Seine River Residence over the years, and to staff at Riverview in recent months, with special thanks to nurses Linda, Ray, Paula and Suzette. A service to celebrate Bill's life will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in Morrow Gospel Church, 755 St. Anne's Road (St. Anne's Road and Shorehill Drive). In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba or to a charity of choice. • I was so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was a fine man and I am sure you will miss him greatly. I have sent a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Bill. As I don't have your new address, you probably won't get notification. - Posted by: Charlotte Lazaruk (Friend) on: Jun 06, 2016
